Let there be light!

11:42 AM Es Elle 0 Comments

So my fabulous brother came down a couple of weeks ago and updated all of the lights in my place and it looks 100% better! It's amazing how just a little lighting can make a HUGE difference! He is actually getting married this weekend and I have finals the day after so that is why I have been a little MIA trying to get all my studying in before the BIG day! Here are some before and after pictures of the lovely new lighting! It's hard to see really how terrible the lighting before was, but just picture big, bulky, round, white plastic over ever light socket…. yeah… HORRIBLE! Have a great week, if I don't report back before then! :)

Before: Fan in my bedroom
 After: My new fan!
Before: THIS is the horrible light fixture
(if you want to call it that)  that filled the entire house
Before: The best before picture I could find of the awful light,
I purposefully tried to not get it in pics - ha
 After: Pretty Stainless steel globe!
walls still not painted… thats next :)
After: in my bathroom… sneak peek
 After: The Kitchen track lighting!
After:  HUGE difference

∞Dreaming in Pink∞

12:13 AM Es Elle 0 Comments

I'm taking a much needed break from studying and have been thinking about this one picture of a PINK Kitchen that I absolutely love and decided to share some of my favorite PINK rooms. I know I have already said that I would love to have PINK everything if it was Sarah's world. Clearly many people in my life like to remind me that it's not but I know you don't mind.  :)

Quote of the Night: I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstickI believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

Nostalgia

5:11 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

I have PLENTY of things piling up to blog about but honestly I do not have the time. I have 2 tests on Wednesday and I am FREAKING  out about it. Just so you all wouldn't think I have forgotten about you, I figured I would post something short and quick. I was on my way back to Auburn from my home and decided to put in a little Backstreet Boys greatest hits. A song came on that I had completely forgot about but used to absolutely LOVE  when I was younger. As I was listening to it, I got to thinking; no wonder. Every girl that listened to this from my generation, at some point in time or another, had to have felt disappointed that Backstreet Boys fooled them into thinking that a guy would never lie to them, cheat on them, hurt them and most of all make them cry. Despite life's ups and downs, I still sang this song as loud as I could; like a dreamy 13 year old girl waiting for that perfect someone to come along. I am sure I looked about the craziest 25 year old driving down the roads of Auburn; but hey, it's not like I know anyone here. right?! ha You can't tell me that you do not remember this song! I'm sure it was your favorite too… it's okay you can sing along :) Hope y'all have a good start of the week and pray I do well on this test!!

•It makes my hair shine like the belt of Orion•

So I have been trying to find some remedies for having dry hair. My hair is normally very healthy  but since I am a broke college student, its sad to say; I have not had my hair even trimmed in 5 months! EEEK!!! i know i know… I do not trust anyone other than my hair dresser and she's a bit expensive for trims and I guess I am just going to have to get over the phobia and have someone trim it while I am here in Auburn. I feel like my hair is so dry so I have been taking vitamins, trying to drink more water, and well searching for every kind of product or at home remedy I can use. I used Moroccan Oil a couple of times but my hair dresser told me that it was not good for blonde hair because it has a gold tint; to which, over time will dull your blonde color that we try so hard to get light! I am trying to keep the costs low so I found this recipe in which I had most of the products. I am trying this tomorrow and lets pray that this doesn't completely throw my hair out of whack… I am in a wedding at the end of this month. If any of you have tried this before PLEASE let me know by tonight if it worked or not :) Hope everyone has had a fantabulous Monday! I included some pictures of some lovely, silky, smooth hair that I envy. It always seems that brunettes and redheads have the prettiest shiny hair but it's very hard for blondes to attain. This is my goal! *Goodnight*

Recipe:
* The first step is to combine and whisk two egg yolks in a small bowl.
* now, cut an avocado into two halves. Remove the skin of one half and place it in a separate bowl. Then use a fork to mash the avocado.
* Add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to avocado and whisk olive oil and avocado together until they are one texture.
* Whisk the egg yolk separately. Then add the yolk to the avocado and olive oil blend; continue whisking until they are one composition.
* Now apply throughout the hair, however concentrate on the areas that need it most (like the ends or hair in back of the head).
* Leave in the hair for about a half hour and then shampoo and condition hair as usual.
* Repeat these steps every 3 days or weekly until there is an improvement in the overall condition of the hair. You should be able to see results after about 2 to 3 weeks.

Sunday Night Movie

7:12 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

I actually watched the last of this movie last night and it was so good I wanted to share. I always look for movies that have happy endings and though it may seem the ending to this movie was sad, it actually ended  happily. You never know what your happy ending may be or what it may take to get there. Some people have to go through hard times to get there and others are lucky enough to just have it.  And, sometimes the happy ending is just simply a new beginning.

It won't let me embed the video, so you can just watch it from this link - its the only one that showed the complete ending :) RUMOR HAS IT

Roommate Bedroom Complete

3:56 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

I am not sure if I told you but I have a roommate moving in at the beginning of August. I do not know her so this is a little risky but it will just be year, I think I can handle it. The room that was to be my office has now turned into an actual guest room. I have been wanting to put pictures up but it has also become my storage room until I get furniture for it and get the rest of the place painted so I am going to wait until it is completely finished. Mother came down the past two days and we finished my new roommates bedroom and bathroom with paint. Here are the before and after pictures of the bedroom! I think it looks pretty good :)

Here is is before new hardwoods, yuck…
(not my furniture)

 With new hardwoods; much better!
(just moved in, hence the clutter)

painted the trim and the walls…
(don't worry, fan is being replaced)

 Roommate Ready :)

It's amazing how new hardwoods and some trim and wall paint can make a room look 100 times bigger and better. It is now ready for her to move in and I can start on the living room and kitchen *finally*

*Surprise, Surprise*

3:28 PM Es Elle 1 Comments

I came home Wednesday from a really rough couple of days with a surprise at my place; coco home, laundry done, house sprayed for bugs, house cleaned, dinner cooked, table set and animals fed. I was completely surprised by all of these sweet things taken care of for me! I can not even express how much that meant to me. I was able to just relax after 3 days from school hell! ha *Thank You* :)
So then two days later, I came home from school with a box delivered on my front porch and when I opened it, this was in it:

I was so surprised and absolutely love them! I feel really blessed to have someone so thoughtful and amazing in my life. It is a blessing to not only love your best friend and lover but also a partner who is there with you and to help you every step of the way. <3
