48 Hour Painting

2:48 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

My mother came down this weekend and we painted all day Friday and Saturday. We managed to get the kitchen and living room painted, one pair of curtains put up and everything back in place in those 2 days. It already looks like a completely different place, It's amazing! I have some a lot of before and after pictures to show. Remember, we have not fully decorated and put all of the curtains and pictures up and all but the paint job makes it look amazingly better! I was so worn out from all that painting, I slept 13 hrs last night! So now that I should be studying, all I can think about is decorating and all I want to do! haha I hope you are all having a great weekend. Enjoy my transformation and I will update when I finish putting up curtains and pictures. Some of the before pictures are when we first looked at it with the previous owners furniture in there and then some are when we moved everything in.!

So I have been studying Microbiology all day for a test I have tomorrow. I actually am very interested in the subject. It's intriguing to see what bacteria cause what diseases and why. Wish me well on the test… I've got a good streak going and don't want to lose it! :) Tomorrow is Hump Day, Hip Hip Hooray!

Keeping me up for the night!

Remembering

8:07 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

Good Monday!!! I went to Yoga early thirty this morning and it felt so great to start my day like that! I got my first AnP 2 test grade back today and it was an 86! I should be happy but I can't help but be disappointed because there were 2 questions that I had right originally and changed. I am very thankful for the grade, as it is higher than any of the tests grades I made in AnP 1 this summer. I also had a quiz on the cat organs today and made a 4.5/5 so I was very pumped about that! I have a microbiology test this week, organic 2 test next week and then the PCAT the week after that so PLEASE pray for me! God is Good!
Well I went to my second first Auburn game this Saturday. My first being when I came to visit Phillip while he was in Pharmacy school but that was nearly 5+ years ago. I did not get student tickets this year because I was considered a transfer student so I was the last of the last to order them and they were sold out by then. Even though I am in enemy fields, I actually had a really good time! It was a beautiful day - not a cloud in the sky. Reminder: take sunscreen to football games. The tops of my legs, shoulders and scalp are so burnt! They had a fabulous 9/11 remembrance that I took some pictures of.

Yesterday was 10 years exactly since 9/11, which is just so crazy that much time has flown by. I am sure most people remember where they were when it happened. As for me, I was getting ready to go to my literature class and my mom told me and we watched the news all day and then went to my class where my literature teacher made is write about what happened and what it meant to us. Very scary times for everyone but I remember being 15 and not knowing what was really going on, like it was the end of the world. It breaks my heart that there are people out there wanting to harm others for their enjoyment. My heart and prayers go out to every person deeply affected by the incidents of that day. I will never forget that day and the images on the television. It definitely opens your eyes to the fact that we are not promised a tomorrow and we should live every day like it is your last and remember the things that really matter in life. We are all so blessed to have life and should be thankful for it every day that we wake up. Remember God's promise to each and every one of us.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. "All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.  For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. - Isaiah 41:10-13

Anatomy? Grey's Anatomy?

9:26 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

no... although, I would love to be studying Grey's Anatomy, I have been up the past 41 hours plus some studying for the Anatomy and Physiology 2 exam I have tomorrow. But, studying this subject makes me wish I was watching Grey's Anatomy instead; living vicariously through Meredith Grey. I want to leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the amazing show. Think of me as I will be up the rest of the night hoping by the hour I am losing sleep that I am somehow retaining these 500,000 terms that will help me score an A on a 50 question exam. I hope you are having as great of a night as I am and the weekend is almost here! :)

Quote of the Night: A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying.

Christmas List begins..

12:58 PM Es Elle 0 Comments

Subconsciously, I have already been thinking about things that I want need and decided I would just ask for them for Christmas… I am sure this list will continue to grow for the next 4 months. I have been wanting a bike for about 2 years now and being in Auburn, everyone rides bikes and so I thought this would be perfect! Rachael and I were going to get Mountain bikes for Christmas last year and she ended up moving to CA so I tossed the idea to the side, until I moved here! The next item I desperately need is a new Bible. My Bible is completely falling apart but at the same time I really treasure it because I have underlined so many great verses in it and in the back I made a list of "verses to live by" and the subject that the scripture pertains to. I felt this helped me when I was struggling with a certain area of life, I would look in the back to the verses that inspired me and read them. I am sort of picky about my Bibles so I should probably pick out the exact Bible I would want! ha The last one (for now) is a pink iphone case! :)
On another note, it is 59 degrees today and Saturday it was definitely 95 degrees! It has literally gone from summer to winter over night. I cannot stand cold weather and am thinking I should just migrate south. The weather has been insane here with raining and tornados, but despite it I am having a wonderful week. I hope you all are having a great Tuesday! Thank the Lord for having Monday off due to Labor Day! I was able to catch up on a lot of school work and finished my practice PCAT in which I now know I have LOTS of studying to do. Here are a few ideas of my beginning Christmas list...

Mountain Bike or Cruiser? either way… must be PINK

Sunday Night Movie

By far one of the best movies I have ever seen. If you have not seen it yet, I highly suggest it. Eat Pray Love brings a new perspective on everything in life.
