Today has been a loooong day. I went out with some friends last night for St. Patty's Day and stayed out entirely too late. It's very rare that I get out like that anymore so when I do, I definitely make a night of it. I had the most fun I have had out in a long long time. I met some great people and ran into a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time. I had to work today and we have been so slow, the day drug on. I cannot even believe how far I have come since last year. I am so excited about my future and everything ahead of me in the next couple of months but I think more than anything I have learned to enjoy the present. I used to wake up miserable, insecure and always wanting more, never satisfied. I now cannot even express the fulfillment I have and I am truly a blessed woman. Going to bed early to try and catch up on some sleep! *God is Good*

of course he wants her...

quote of the night: "Give her two red roses, each with a note. The first note says 'For the woman I love' and the second, 'For my best friend.'"

çoço's day

I did wake up early today and attempted to brush Coco's teeth. She was not very happy but none the less I still managed to get most of them. Here she is growling at the toothbrush!:

I then went to the library for my last day of Spring Break and while Cortney and I were sitting outside talking and this random duck came walking across the road taking its precious time and we were laughing bc all the cars stopped for it:

I got a lot of Calculus done and promised Coco last night I would take her to the park and it felt sooo good outside so I did:

(happy Coco)

(clean Coco)

(dirty Coco)

I think she had the best day she has had in a long time. She was so happy and running around. I felt like I had a wild child. She ran through the water, I looked down and literally 2 seconds later she had mud all over her paws, chest and face. I just let her play and get dirty. I had a great time as well running with her and enjoying this beautiful weather. Life is Good.

Quote of the night: "When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person's body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings."
 Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)

Once Upon A Time... never has to end.

This is how I feel most of the time...

... and I don't mind :)

Life

I had another successful day at the library and was going to take Coco for a walk when I got home but it was rather chilly outside so I figured I would try tomorrow {hopefully it will be warmer}. Instead, I had a little retail therapy that was waaaay over due! and much to my low expectations of finding anything, I actually found some good stuff. It has been so hard for me to find things that fit and I actually got 2 pairs of jeans, a jacket and 2 pairs of shoes! I am very excited! i really just need some casual tops and cute sundresses but that can wait for a couple more months. I had to walk through Z Gallerie and literally faced straight toward the door and kept walking or I would have spent the whole 2 hrs in there picking out stuff for my new place!
On another note; I found out two people that I know had died recently. One was a patient at my work and would see her pretty frequently, so that was very sad. The other was a girl that I had have known for a couple of years but got to know her better over this past summer and she was about to graduate law school in which we talked about hanging out more when she moved back to Birmingham. She was found in her apt on March 3 and I just found out about it today. I am very saddened by this, even though I did not know her real well, she was beautiful and very very smart. I have to say that before we became better friends, I always thought she was so pretty, dressed impeccably and just all around classy girl. It is such a sad sad thing that a beautiful girl at 25 could have life cut so short. I pray for her family and close friends through this grieving time. It definitely puts things in perspective for me to see someone so great my age to be swept away from this world. Rest in peace: A.B.

Positive

Well this is my second day of 4 days for Spring Break spent at the library. Chemistry has consumed my 48 hrs and let me just say that can get a little depressing. So it's time for some positive thinking! I had a productive day at the library and got most of my Chemistry done so time to  move on to Calculus. I came home to my beautiful maltipoo and decided to actually make myself dinner again and unwind a little bit. It's so easy to get caught up in all the here and now. The world can pull us in every direction and take up all of our time. I can say some of my favorite things of the past two days are:

1. my alarm going off and getting to lay just a little bit longer
2. getting out of the shower and letting my hair dry naturally and no make up
2. the first smiling face I see is on my electric toothbrush telling me I'm done
3. driving to the library with the music up and windows down
4. peace and quiet in the library
5. feeling accomplished leaving the library
6. making myself a lovely dinner and taking some "me"time
7. blogging :)
8. having the apt. to myself for a couple of nights
9. *Pandora*
10. the 10 minutes before I go to sleep when my maltipoo cuddles up to me and all she wants is to be loved on. Her love is unconditional and just what I need at the end of the day :)

Seeing this makes me very thankful to have 2 more days to enjoy and thankful I have them to catch up on my work!

Speechless

I have a lot on my mind but not much to really say so I am going to just leave today with a quote and a song. Tomorrow is a *new day* :)

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." - Reinhold Niebuhr
